Our Au KingCare A2 β-Casein Full Cream Powder comes from cows specially selected to produce milk that’s naturally all A2-type protein and no A1
What is the difference between A1 and A2-type proteins?
Approximately 30% of the proteins in cows' milk are called beta-casein, and these can be grouped into two types: A1 and A2.
Ordinary cows’ milk contains both A1-type and A2-type beta-casein proteins. In A1 and A2 beta-casein, the molecules are almost identical and have the same number of amino acids. The difference between A1 protein and A2 protein is in one of their 209 amino acids. Because of this single amino acid, A1 and A2 proteins are digested differently.
Some people experience digestive issues when drinking ordinary milk containing the A1 protein.
Au KingCare A2 β-Casein Full Cream Powder naturally contains only A2-type protein and as a result, some people who find that they experience digestive discomfort with ordinary milk, may be able to consume Au KingCare A2 β-Casein Full Cream Powder.
Is the A1 protein the same as lactose?
No, both can be found in milk, but the A1 beta-casein is a protein, while lactose is a sugar (carbohydrate).
Studies have shown that some people who are lactose maldigesters, including some with clinically diagnosed lactose intolerance, may experience fewer symptoms of digestive discomfort after drinking Au KingCare A2 β-Casein Full Cream Powder than after drinking regular cow’s milk.
Au KingCare A2 β-Casein Full Cream Powder is naturally A1 protein free, so it may be easier on digestion than ordinary milk for some milk intolerant individuals, when consumed as part of a healthy varied diet.
